Prediction markets like this one often diverge from traditional weather analyst forecasts because they aggregate real-time trader conviction rather than relying solely on meteorological models. While meteorologists publish point estimates and confidence intervals based on atmospheric data, market participants incorporate broader information—including historical patterns, recent anomalies, and breaking weather updates—into their bids. This market's odds reflect collective expectations about June 26 conditions in Jeddah, offering a dynamic alternative perspective to static forecasts issued days or weeks in advance.
This market resolves around Jun 26, 2026, once the highest temperature recorded in Jeddah on June 26 is confirmed and verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by comparing the actual peak temperature reading against the threshold or range specified in the market's outcome options. Traders holding shares in the correct outcome receive their payout, while incorrect positions expire worthless. Resolution typically occurs within hours of the close of the trading day once official data is published.
Major weather pattern shifts, updated seasonal forecasts, or unexpected atmospheric developments could significantly move odds in this market. Real-time meteorological alerts, changes in jet stream positioning, or anomalous heat waves affecting the Arabian Peninsula may prompt traders to reassess their positions. Additionally, historical temperature records for June 26 in Jeddah and recent daily highs in the region serve as anchors for comparison. As the event date draws closer, any official weather warnings or revised model consensus will likely trigger trading surges and price adjustments.
