The resolution source for this market will be information from Wunderground, specifically the highest temperature recorded for all times on this day for the King Abdulaziz International Airport Station, available here: https://www.wunderground.com/history/daily/sa/jeddah/OEJN. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the gear icon next to the search bar and switch the Temperature setting between °F and °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.

Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional weather analyst forecasts because they incorporate real-time trader behavior, risk premiums, and information asymmetries. While meteorologists publish deterministic or probabilistic forecasts based on atmospheric models, this market aggregates the collective judgment of participants with financial incentives to be accurate. Traders may price in tail risks or consensus blind spots that formal forecasts miss, or they may overweight recent data. Comparing the implied probabilities here to published forecasts from national weather services or climate analysts can reveal where market participants see value or disagreement.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that sets odds based on the ratio of shares held in each outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders buy and sell outcome shares at prices that reflect the current probability estimate; as demand shifts, prices adjust dynamically. The cost of a share represents the market's implied likelihood of that temperature threshold occurring. Liquidity, recent trades, and the total volume of capital deployed all influence how quickly prices move and how tight the spreads remain between bid and ask.
This market resolves around Jun 14, 2026, once the highest temperature recorded in Jeddah on June 14 is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by comparing actual meteorological data against the predefined temperature brackets offered in the market. Traders who held shares in the correct outcome bracket at resolution receive their payout, while incorrect positions expire worthless. Resolution typically occurs within hours or a day after the event concludes, pending confirmation from official weather monitoring stations or recognized climate databases.
Major weather pattern shifts, updated seasonal forecasts, or anomalous atmospheric conditions could significantly move prices in this market. Real-time updates from meteorological agencies, changes in ocean temperatures, or unexpected jet stream behavior may prompt traders to reprrice their positions. News of heat waves affecting the broader Middle East region, or conversely, cooler-than-normal air masses, could trigger sharp moves. As June 14 approaches, each new forecast model run and any breaking climate or weather news will likely drive trading activity and shift the implied probability of extreme heat in Jeddah.
