This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by NOAA at the Istanbul Airport in degrees Celsius on 2 Jun '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=LTFM To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to Metric Units" button until the relevant table displays °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.
On Polymarket, the highest temperature in Istanbul on June 2 is priced through an automated market maker or order-book model, with each temperature outcome represented as a separate contract. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders buy and sell shares corresponding to their belief about whether the actual high will fall into specific ranges. Prices reflect the collective probability assigned by the market; higher prices indicate stronger consensus that a particular temperature outcome will occur. Liquidity and trading volume determine how easily positions can be entered or exited.
The market resolves on Jun 2, 2026, after June 2 concludes in Istanbul. Resolution is determined by the actual highest temperature recorded in Istanbul on that date. Official meteorological data sources are used to confirm the final temperature reading, ensuring an objective and verifiable outcome. Once the temperature is confirmed, the market settles automatically, and traders' profits or losses are calculated based on their positions relative to the resolved outcome.
Several factors could shift market odds for Istanbul's June 2 high temperature. Updated weather forecasts from major meteorological agencies, seasonal climate patterns, and atmospheric pressure systems approaching the region will influence trader expectations. Real-time weather data closer to June 2, including humidity and wind patterns, may trigger repricing. Additionally, historical temperature records for early June in Istanbul and any unusual weather events in the Mediterranean region could prompt traders to adjust their positions and shift implied probabilities.
