This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by NOAA at the Istanbul Airport in degrees Celsius on 15 Jun '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=LTFM To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to Metric Units" button until the relevant table displays °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.

Prediction market odds reflect the aggregated beliefs of traders with real money at stake, often diverging from traditional weather forecasts and analyst models. While meteorologists rely on physics-based simulations and historical data, this market incorporates trader conviction, recent weather patterns, and emerging climate signals in real time. Comparing the implied probability here to official forecasts from Turkey's meteorological institute can reveal where the crowd sees asymmetric risk. Markets often price in tail events or consensus blind spots that models miss, making the comparison valuable for understanding different perspectives on the likely outcome.
On Polymarket, traders set the odds through an automated market maker (AMM) mechanism, where buying or selling shares shifts the price based on the liquidity pool. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each outcome bucket—such as temperature ranges—has its own share price, and the sum of all outcome probabilities equals 100 percent. As traders place orders, the price adjusts to reflect new information and shifting demand. This continuous repricing ensures the market stays responsive to breaking weather news, model updates, or other catalysts that might affect Istanbul's temperature on the target date.
This market resolves around Jun 15, 2026, once the highest temperature recorded in Istanbul on June 15 is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by comparing trader predictions against the actual observed temperature data from that day. Once the event passes and official readings are confirmed, the winning outcome shares are paid out at full value, and all other shares expire worthless. Resolution typically occurs within hours or a few days of the event, depending on data availability and platform confirmation procedures.
Major weather pattern shifts, updated seasonal forecasts, or sudden atmospheric changes could significantly move this market. Heat waves, cold fronts, or unusual jet-stream positioning in the weeks leading up to June 15 would trigger repricing as traders adjust their bets. Real-time weather model updates, especially from European or Turkish meteorological centers, often spark sharp moves. Additionally, broader climate anomalies—such as sea-surface temperature changes in the Mediterranean or North Atlantic—could influence trader positioning. As the date approaches, any official weather alerts or extreme-event warnings would likely drive rapid volatility in outcome probabilities.
