This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by NOAA at the Istanbul Airport in degrees Celsius on 10 Jun '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=LTFM To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to Metric Units" button until the relevant table displays °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.
Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect aggregated trader expectations and can be compared against meteorological forecasts from weather agencies and climate analysts. While prediction markets incorporate real-time information and financial incentives, traditional weather forecasts rely on atmospheric modeling and historical data. Divergences between market odds and analyst predictions may signal either market inefficiency or emerging weather pattern shifts that forecasters have not yet fully incorporated. Comparing both sources provides a more complete picture of temperature expectations for that date.
On Polymarket, the highest temperature in Istanbul on June 10 is priced through an automated market maker mechanism where traders buy and sell shares corresponding to specific temperature ranges or outcomes. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Prices reflect the collective belief of market participants about which temperature outcome is most likely. As traders place orders, prices adjust dynamically based on supply and demand. The implied probability of each outcome can be derived from its current price, allowing you to see in real time how confident the market is about different temperature scenarios for that date.
The market resolves on Jun 10, 2026, after the highest temperature in Istanbul on June 10 has been recorded and verified. The outcome is determined by the actual maximum temperature observed in Istanbul on that specific date. Resolution occurs once official temperature data becomes available and is confirmed through the market's designated data source. Traders holding shares in the correct outcome receive their payouts proportionally based on the final settlement price.
Several factors could shift market odds for Istanbul's June 10 temperature. Major weather pattern changes, such as unexpected heat waves or cool fronts moving into the region, would trigger significant repricing. Updated seasonal forecasts from meteorological agencies, climate anomalies, or shifts in atmospheric pressure systems could alter trader expectations. As June 10 approaches, real-time weather data and short-term forecasts become increasingly influential. Historical temperature records for that date and time of year also serve as reference points that traders monitor when adjusting their positions.
