This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by the Hong Kong Observatory in degrees Celsius on 15 Jun '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from the Hong Kong Observatory, specifically the "Absolute Daily Max (deg. C)" the specified date once information is finalized in the relevant "Daily Extract", available here: https://www.weather.gov.hk/en/cis/climat.htm This market can not resolve until data for this date has been published. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures in Celsius to one decimal place (eg, 9.1°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is initially published for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.

Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional meteorological forecasts because traders incorporate real-time data, model uncertainty, and their own risk assessments. While weather agencies publish deterministic or probabilistic forecasts based on numerical models, this market aggregates the collective judgment of many participants betting real money on the outcome. Analysts may issue a single best estimate, whereas traders here price in tail risks and confidence intervals. Over time, markets tend to outperform single-point forecasts on events with sufficient liquidity and information flow, though both sources remain valuable for understanding the range of plausible outcomes.
This market resolves around Jun 15, 2026, once the highest temperature recorded in Hong Kong on June 15 is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by official meteorological data, typically from Hong Kong's Observatory or equivalent authoritative weather records. Once the event date passes and the final temperature is confirmed, the market settles automatically and payouts are distributed to holders of the winning outcome shares. Traders should monitor weather updates and official announcements as the date approaches to inform their positions.
Major weather pattern shifts, tropical cyclone warnings, or updated seasonal forecasts from meteorological agencies can significantly move prices in this market. Real-time atmospheric data, including sea-surface temperatures and monsoon activity, often triggers trader repositioning. News of climate anomalies or El Niño/La Niña developments may also influence expectations. As June 15 approaches, daily weather model updates and short-range forecasts become increasingly important, causing volatility. Finally, any unusual heat events or extreme weather elsewhere in Asia could shift regional climate patterns and trader sentiment about Hong Kong's temperature outcome.
