This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by the Hong Kong Observatory in degrees Celsius on 11 Jun '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from the Hong Kong Observatory, specifically the "Absolute Daily Max (deg. C)" the specified date once information is finalized in the relevant "Daily Extract", available here: https://www.weather.gov.hk/en/cis/climat.htm This market can not resolve until data for this date has been published. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures in Celsius to one decimal place (eg, 9.1°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is initially published for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.

Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect aggregated trader expectations and often diverge from traditional meteorological forecasts issued by agencies like the Hong Kong Observatory. While analysts rely on numerical weather models and historical climate patterns, prediction markets incorporate real-time information, trader conviction, and economic incentives. Market odds may lead or lag official forecasts depending on new data releases, seasonal anomalies, or emerging climate signals. Comparing Polymarket probabilities to published analyst ranges helps identify whether traders are pricing in tail risks or consensus outcomes that meteorologists have not yet emphasized.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, the highest temperature in Hong Kong on June 11 is priced through outcome contracts representing discrete temperature ranges or thresholds. Traders buy and sell shares in each outcome, with prices reflecting the collective probability assigned by the market. The price of each contract moves inversely with supply and demand; as more traders believe a temperature range is likely, its price rises toward 1.00 and its implied probability increases. Polymarket's automated market maker or order-book mechanism ensures continuous pricing, allowing participants to enter and exit positions throughout the event window until resolution on Jun 11, 2026.
The market resolves on Jun 11, 2026, after the highest temperature recorded in Hong Kong on June 11, 2026 has been officially documented. Resolution is determined by the verified maximum temperature reading for that calendar day, typically sourced from the Hong Kong Observatory or equivalent meteorological authority. Once the official data is published and confirmed, the outcome contract corresponding to the actual temperature range settles to 1.00, and all other contracts settle to 0.00. Traders holding the winning outcome receive their payout based on the price at which they held their position.
Several factors could shift market odds for Hong Kong's peak temperature on June 11. Updated seasonal forecasts and medium-range weather models issued by meteorological agencies will influence trader expectations. Anomalous ocean temperatures, monsoon intensity, or tropical storm activity in the Western Pacific could drive prices higher or lower. Historical temperature records and climate indices such as the Southern Oscillation or Indian Ocean Dipole may also affect positioning. Real-time atmospheric data, including upper-air patterns and humidity levels in early June, will refine market probabilities as the event date approaches. Major climate or weather announcements in the weeks prior could trigger rapid repricing.
