This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded at the Helsinki Vantaa Airport Station in degrees Celsius on 6 Jun '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from Wunderground, specifically the highest temperature recorded for all times on this day for the Helsinki Vantaa Airport Station, available here: https://www.wunderground.com/history/daily/fi/vantaa/EFHK. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the gear icon next to the search bar and switch the Temperature setting between °F and °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.
Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect real-money bets from traders and often diverge from traditional meteorological forecasts. While weather analysts issue deterministic point estimates or ranges based on climate models, prediction markets aggregate distributed beliefs across many participants with financial incentive to be accurate. For Helsinki's June 6 temperature, market odds may shift faster than official forecasts as new weather data emerges, offering an alternative gauge of expected conditions compared to conventional meteorological guidance.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, the highest temperature in Helsinki on June 6 is priced through outcome shares that represent discrete temperature ranges or specific thresholds. Traders buy and sell shares corresponding to their belief about whether the actual high will fall within each range. The price of each share reflects the market's collective probability estimate for that outcome. As new weather information or seasonal patterns emerge, prices adjust to reflect updated trader sentiment about the likelihood of each temperature scenario.
The market resolves on Jun 6, 2026, after the close of trading on June 6, 2026. Resolution is determined by the official highest temperature recorded in Helsinki on that date. The winning outcome is the temperature range or threshold that matches the actual observed peak, as reported by the relevant meteorological authority. Once the final temperature is confirmed and verified, the market settles and winning shares are paid out accordingly.
Major weather pattern shifts, updated seasonal forecasts, and atmospheric pressure systems tracking toward Scandinavia could significantly move odds. Anomalous heat waves or cold fronts developing weeks before June 6 would prompt traders to reprice temperature expectations. Real-time weather model updates in May and early June will drive the most volatile price swings. Historical temperature records for Helsinki in early June and broader European climate trends also influence market pricing as traders refine their probability estimates closer to the event date.
