Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect aggregated trader beliefs about Guangzhou's peak temperature on June 7, often incorporating real-time weather data and seasonal patterns. Traditional meteorological forecasts from agencies like China's National Meteorological Center provide deterministic temperature predictions based on atmospheric modeling. Markets typically converge toward official forecasts as the event date nears, though they may diverge if traders identify systematic biases or if unexpected weather systems develop. Comparing the two reveals whether markets are pricing in tail risks that analysts downplay.

On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, this event is priced through outcome tokens representing specific temperature ranges or exact values, with each outcome's price reflecting its implied probability. Traders buy and sell these tokens based on their conviction about Guangzhou's weather on June 7, with prices adjusting dynamically as new information arrives. Higher prices indicate greater market confidence in that outcome. The order book depth and recent trade volume show how liquid each temperature range is, affecting how easily traders can enter or exit positions.

The market resolves on Jun 7, 2026, after the highest temperature in Guangzhou on June 7 has been officially recorded. Resolution depends on verified meteorological data from recognized weather stations in Guangzhou, ensuring an objective and auditable outcome. Once the day concludes and official temperature readings are published, the winning outcome is determined and traders' positions settle accordingly. This timing gives traders a clear deadline and ensures resolution occurs only after all relevant data is available.

Weather forecasts updated by meteorological agencies will be the primary driver of odds movement. Seasonal climate patterns, ocean temperatures, and atmospheric pressure systems affecting southern China in early June influence predictions. Major weather events such as tropical storms, monsoon onset, or heat waves could shift market prices significantly. Long-range forecast updates from international weather models, historical temperature comparisons for that date, and real-time atmospheric data closer to June 7 will all trigger trader repositioning. Market prices may also reflect broader climate anomalies or El Niño conditions affecting regional temperatures.
