Frequently asked questions

On Polymarket, the Denver temperature market dashboard tracks real-time odds and 24-hour trading volume for contracts tied to the highest temperature in Denver on June 25. The interface displays current pricing, historical price movements, and recent transaction data. With total group volume of $55,587 and 24-hour volume of $34,192, this market reflects active trader interest in weather outcomes. The dashboard lets you monitor how odds shift as new information emerges and compare different temperature thresholds traders are pricing into their positions.

Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional weather forecasts because they incorporate real-time trader sentiment and financial incentives alongside meteorological models. While the National Weather Service and other analysts publish point forecasts and confidence intervals, this market prices uncertainty through continuous trading. Traders betting real capital may weight recent data, model disagreement, or seasonal patterns differently than published forecasts. Comparing the implied probability in this market to official predictions can reveal where the crowd sees upside or downside risk relative to expert consensus.

This market resolves around Jun 25, 2026, after the highest temperature in Denver on that date has been recorded and verified. The outcome is confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Traders holding the correct outcome receive their payout, while incorrect positions expire worthless. Resolution timing depends on when official data becomes available and the platform processes the final settlement.

Updated weather models, seasonal pattern shifts, and atmospheric pressure systems can all shift odds in this market. Major weather events—such as heat waves, cold fronts, or unusual jet stream positioning—may trigger repricing as traders reassess the probability of extreme temperatures. Real-time meteorological alerts and forecast revisions from the National Weather Service often correlate with sharp price moves. Additionally, historical temperature records and long-range climate data can influence trader positioning as the event date approaches.
