This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded at the Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport Station in degrees Celsius on 2 Jun '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from Wunderground, specifically the highest temperature recorded for all times on this day for the Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport Station, available here: https://www.wunderground.com/history/daily/cn/chongqing/ZUCK. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the gear icon next to the search bar and switch the Temperature setting between °F and °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.
Prediction market odds on Polymarket often diverge from traditional meteorological forecasts and analyst predictions for Chongqing's June 2 high temperature. While weather services issue point estimates and confidence intervals based on atmospheric models, prediction markets aggregate trader beliefs and incorporate real-time information, sometimes leading to different probability distributions. Comparing market-implied odds to official forecasts from China's meteorological agencies can reveal whether traders are pricing in tail risks, model uncertainty, or recent weather pattern shifts that analysts may not yet fully reflect.
The market resolves on Jun 2, 2026, after the highest temperature in Chongqing on June 2 has been recorded. Resolution is determined by the official maximum temperature observation for that date, typically sourced from China's meteorological authority or a designated weather station in Chongqing. The outcome token corresponding to the actual recorded high temperature will be deemed correct, and traders holding that token receive their payout.
Several factors could shift odds for Chongqing's June 2 high temperature. Updated seasonal weather forecasts and extended-range models from meteorological agencies will influence trader expectations. Major weather systems, monsoon onset timing, or unusual atmospheric patterns over East Asia could alter temperature trajectories. Real-time satellite imagery and regional pressure anomalies may prompt repricing. Additionally, historical temperature records and climate normals for early June in Chongqing serve as anchors; any significant deviation in late-May conditions could signal a shift in the June 2 outlook.
