Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect aggregated trader expectations and often diverge from traditional meteorological forecasts. While weather analysts rely on atmospheric models and historical climate data, prediction markets incorporate real-time information and trader conviction. Markets may price in seasonal patterns, climate anomalies, or recent weather trends differently than official forecasts. Comparing Polymarket odds to China Meteorological Administration predictions or international weather services can reveal whether traders expect warmer or cooler conditions than consensus models suggest for Chongqing on June 1.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, the highest temperature in Chongqing on June 1 is priced through outcome shares that represent discrete temperature ranges or specific thresholds. Traders buy and sell shares corresponding to their belief about whether the actual high will fall within each range. The price of each share reflects the market's implied probability for that outcome. As traders update positions based on seasonal forecasts, atmospheric conditions, and real-time weather data approaching June 1, share prices adjust continuously. The leading outcome currently reflects the market's strongest conviction about Chongqing's peak temperature.
The market resolves on Jun 1, 2026, after the highest temperature in Chongqing on June 1 has been recorded and verified. Resolution depends on official temperature data for that specific date. The outcome is determined by comparing the actual recorded high temperature against the predefined outcome thresholds or ranges established at market creation. Once the temperature is confirmed through official meteorological sources, the market settles and winning shares are paid out accordingly.
Several factors could shift odds for Chongqing's June 1 high temperature. Seasonal weather pattern updates and long-range forecasts from meteorological agencies will influence trader expectations. Major atmospheric systems such as monsoons, heat waves, or cold fronts approaching the region could trigger significant repricing. Real-time weather data, satellite imagery, and short-range model consensus in late May will sharpen market predictions. Climate anomalies, El Niño or La Niña conditions, and historical temperature records for early June in Chongqing may also drive trading activity and probability adjustments as the event date approaches.
