This event tracks the maximum temperature in Chicago on a specific date, using data from a designated weather provider. Participants can assess various temperature ranges to predict weather conditions for that day. The outcome depends solely on the official temperature recording from the chosen source.
The event resolves based on the maximum temperature recorded in Chicago (CLIMDW) on October 25, 2026, as reported by The Weather Company. Six separate markets cover different temperature ranges: 69° or below, 70-71°, 72-73°, 74-75°, 76-77°, and 78° or above. Each market resolves to Yes if the recorded temperature falls within its specified range. All markets share common secondary rules regarding data verification and error handling. Preliminary data may be subject to rounding or conversion differences, and participants should exercise caution when interpreting early readings. If the Exchange identifies a material error in the initial non-preliminary publication, the expiration may be delayed until a corrected revision is published or until the expiration date, whichever comes first. If no data remains available by the end of this period, all markets will resolve to the last fair price determined by Kalshi. A "Final" status on weather.com/kalshi is provided for convenience but does not guarantee data accuracy or exempt the market from these error-resolution procedures.
