Description

On August 20, 2026, Chicago's weather will be monitored to see if the highest temperature reaches certain thresholds. Various temperature bands are defined, each corresponding to a different market outcome based on the peak temperature recorded that day.

Kalshi

The market resolves based on the maximum temperature recorded at Chicago (CLIMDW) on August 20, 2026, as reported by The Weather Company. Six distinct temperature ranges are specified: 76°F or below, 77-78°F, 79-80°F, 81-82°F, 83-84°F, and 85°F or above. If the recorded maximum temperature falls within any of these ranges, the corresponding market resolves to Yes. All secondary rules emphasize that while other weather sources may be consulted for guidance, The Weather Company's report is the official and final determinant of the temperature values used to resolve the markets.
