Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect real-money consensus from traders and can be compared against meteorological forecasts from weather services and climate analysts. While prediction markets aggregate decentralized trader beliefs, traditional forecasters rely on atmospheric models and historical data. Comparing the two reveals whether markets are pricing in more optimistic or pessimistic temperature scenarios than official weather guidance, helping you identify divergence between speculative and expert opinion.
On Polymarket, this event is priced as a binary outcome: whether the highest temperature in Busan will be 21°C or below on June 5. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders buy and sell shares representing yes or no positions, with the current market price reflecting the probability assigned by active participants. As new information emerges—seasonal forecasts, atmospheric patterns, or historical temperature data for early June—the price adjusts to reflect updated trader expectations about Busan's peak temperature.
Temperature expectations for Busan on June 5 can shift based on seasonal weather pattern updates, tropical system forecasts, ocean temperature anomalies, and historical climate data releases. Major weather model runs issued by meteorological agencies often trigger repricing as traders incorporate new atmospheric predictions. Additionally, early June temperature records from prior years and real-time conditions in late May may influence market sentiment about whether peak temperatures will exceed or remain below the specified threshold.
