Prediction market odds on Polymarket can be compared against meteorological forecasts and seasonal climate models from official weather services and independent analysts. Meteorologists typically issue temperature predictions based on atmospheric patterns, historical data, and computer models, while prediction markets aggregate the beliefs of many traders with real financial incentives. Divergences often emerge when markets price in tail risks or when analyst consensus lags behind new weather data. Tracking both sources provides a fuller picture of expected temperature outcomes for Busan on June 4.
On Polymarket, the highest temperature in Busan on June 4 is priced through an automated market maker or order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares corresponding to specific temperature ranges or outcomes. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each outcome's price reflects the probability traders assign to that temperature occurring. As new weather forecasts, seasonal patterns, or real-time atmospheric data emerge, traders adjust their positions, moving prices up or down. The spread between bid and ask prices indicates liquidity and conviction around each outcome.
The market resolves on Jun 4, 2026, after the highest temperature in Busan on June 4 has been recorded and verified. Resolution depends on official temperature data from a designated meteorological source, typically the Korea Meteorological Administration or equivalent authority. Once the peak temperature for that day is confirmed, the outcome corresponding to the actual recorded value is deemed correct, and traders holding shares in that outcome receive their payout while other positions expire worthless.
Major weather systems, seasonal monsoon patterns, and atmospheric pressure changes over East Asia can significantly shift market odds for Busan's peak temperature on June 4. Updated meteorological forecasts, especially those issued within days of the event, often trigger sharp repricing as traders incorporate new data. Long-range climate anomalies, ocean temperature patterns, and historical June weather trends in Busan also influence expectations. Real-time observations closer to June 4 will drive the most dramatic moves as uncertainty narrows and actual conditions become clearer.
