Prediction market odds on this market represent crowdsourced expectations from traders with real money at stake, often diverging from traditional meteorological forecasts. While weather analysts rely on numerical models and historical data to project June 26 conditions in Busan, market participants incorporate those same signals plus their own conviction and risk appetite. Markets tend to update faster than official forecasts when new data emerges, and they can reflect tail-risk scenarios that analysts downplay. Comparing the current odds to published forecasts from Korea Meteorological Administration or similar agencies reveals where traders see asymmetric opportunity or disagreement with consensus.
This market resolves around Jun 26, 2026, once June 26 has passed and the day's weather data becomes available. The outcome is determined by verifying the highest temperature recorded in Busan on that date against credible public sources. Once the event is confirmed and the result is clear, the market settles automatically, paying out holders of the winning shares at full value and leaving losing shares worthless. Resolution typically occurs within hours or a day after the event concludes.
Major weather pattern shifts, updated seasonal forecasts, or tropical storm activity near the Korean peninsula could significantly move odds in this market. Real-time atmospheric data releases, changes in ocean temperature, or unexpected jet stream behavior may prompt traders to reassess their positions. Historical temperature records for Busan in late June also serve as reference points—unusually hot or cool years can shift expectations. As June 26 approaches, any official meteorological alerts or revised forecasts will likely trigger trading spikes, and the final week's actual weather conditions may cause sharp repricing as traders lock in their final bets.
