Frequently asked questions

On Polymarket, the Busan temperature market dashboard tracks real-time odds and historical price movements for contracts tied to the highest temperature recorded in Busan on June 25. The interface displays current implied probabilities, 24-hour trading volume of $112,920, and cumulative liquidity across all temperature outcome brackets. Traders use this data to monitor how market sentiment shifts as the event date approaches, with granular price history helping participants identify trends and volatility patterns in temperature expectations for that specific day.

Prediction market odds reflect aggregated trader beliefs and often diverge from traditional meteorological forecasts or analyst models. While weather services issue point estimates and confidence intervals based on atmospheric data, this market prices uncertainty through continuous trading, allowing real-time incorporation of new information. Comparing the implied probability here to published forecasts from regional meteorological agencies can reveal whether traders are pricing in more or less risk than official models suggest, making the market a useful cross-check against conventional predictions.

On Polymarket, traders set odds by buying and selling shares of discrete temperature outcomes, with each contract representing a specific temperature range or exact value. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the collective probability assigned by the market; higher prices indicate greater confidence in that temperature occurring. Liquidity pools and order books determine how easily traders can enter or exit positions, and the spread between bid and ask prices reflects market depth and conviction around the most likely outcomes.

This market resolves around Jun 25, 2026, once the highest temperature recorded in Busan on June 25 is confirmed and verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by official meteorological data for that date, with the winning contract corresponding to the actual peak temperature observed. Resolution typically occurs within hours or days after the event, allowing traders to settle their positions once the factual temperature reading is established and validated.

Weather pattern shifts, seasonal forecasts, and updated atmospheric models can all influence trading activity in this market. Major weather systems approaching the Korean peninsula, changes in ocean temperatures, or anomalous pressure patterns reported by meteorological agencies may prompt traders to adjust positions. Additionally, historical temperature records for that date and time of year serve as reference points; unexpected climate developments or revised long-range forecasts closer to June 25 could trigger significant repricing as new information becomes available.
