Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect aggregated trader expectations and often diverge from traditional meteorological forecasts. While weather analysts rely on atmospheric models and historical climate data for Busan's June patterns, prediction markets incorporate real-time information, trader conviction, and market dynamics. Comparing Polymarket implied probabilities to official forecasts from Korea Meteorological Administration or regional weather services can reveal whether markets are pricing in more optimistic or pessimistic temperature scenarios than expert consensus.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Temperature outcomes on Polymarket are priced as binary or range-based contracts, where each outcome represents a specific temperature band or threshold. Traders buy and sell shares reflecting their belief in whether the actual high will fall within that range. Prices move based on order flow, new weather data, and seasonal adjustments. The market's depth and liquidity determine how efficiently prices adjust to new information as June 13 approaches.
The market resolves on Jun 13, 2026, after the highest temperature in Busan on June 13, 2026 has been recorded. Resolution depends on the official temperature reading from the designated meteorological station or authority responsible for Busan weather data. Traders should verify the exact data source and measurement methodology specified in the market terms to understand which official record will determine the final outcome and settlement.
Major weather pattern shifts, seasonal anomalies, and updated long-range forecasts from meteorological agencies can significantly move odds. El Niño or La Niña conditions, monsoon timing changes, and atmospheric pressure systems affecting East Asia in early June will influence trader expectations. Additionally, real-time weather alerts, heat wave warnings, or unexpected climate events in late May could trigger rapid repricing. Traders should monitor Korean weather services and regional climate reports closely as the event date approaches.
