Prediction market odds on Polymarket can be compared against meteorological forecasts and seasonal climate models published by weather agencies and research institutions. Meteorologists typically issue temperature predictions based on atmospheric patterns, historical data, and seasonal norms for early June in Busan. Prediction markets often incorporate these expert forecasts but may diverge when traders believe consensus estimates are mispriced. Comparing market-implied probabilities to official weather outlooks reveals whether traders are pricing in higher or lower temperatures than traditional forecasters expect.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, the highest temperature in Busan on June 1 is priced through an automated market maker or order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares corresponding to specific temperature ranges or outcomes. Each outcome has an implied probability derived from its current price. As traders adjust their positions based on updated weather models, seasonal forecasts, and real-time atmospheric data, prices shift to reflect new consensus. The leading outcome's probability and recent volume indicate which temperature range the market currently favors most heavily.
The market resolves on Jun 1, 2026. Resolution is determined by the highest temperature officially recorded in Busan on June 1, as reported by the relevant meteorological authority. The outcome is typically the peak daily temperature measured at the official weather station serving Busan. Once the date passes and the official reading is published, the market settles to the outcome corresponding to that recorded temperature, and traders' positions are finalized based on whether their chosen outcome matched the actual result.
Temperature forecasts for Busan on June 1 can shift based on updated weather models, seasonal climate patterns, and atmospheric pressure systems developing weeks in advance. Major weather events such as tropical systems, monsoon onset timing, or unusual high-pressure ridges can significantly alter expected temperatures. Long-range forecasts from meteorological agencies often trigger repricing as they refine predictions. Real-time atmospheric data, ocean temperatures, and historical analogues for early June in Busan also influence trader expectations. As June 1 approaches, short-range forecasts become more precise and typically drive larger market movements.
