Prediction market odds reflect aggregated trader beliefs and often diverge from traditional weather forecasts issued by meteorological agencies. While meteorologists rely on atmospheric models and historical data, this market incorporates real-time information and trader conviction through price discovery. Comparing the implied probability here to published forecasts from regional weather services can reveal where the crowd expects conditions to differ from official predictions. Both sources offer value: analysts provide technical depth, while markets capture forward-looking sentiment and uncertainty.
This market resolves around Jul 10, 2026, once the highest temperature recorded in Busan on July 10 is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by comparing actual weather data to the threshold specified in the contract. Traders holding shares in the correct outcome receive their payout, while incorrect positions expire worthless. Resolution typically occurs within hours of the event, once official temperature readings are confirmed and published.
Weather forecasts updated by meteorological agencies can shift market prices significantly as confidence in temperature predictions changes. Seasonal climate patterns, El Niño or La Niña conditions, and historical July temperature data for Busan all influence trader positioning. Real-time atmospheric developments, such as unexpected heat waves or cooling systems, may trigger rapid repricing. Additionally, as July 10 approaches, traders incorporate the latest model runs and satellite data, causing volatility in this market as uncertainty narrows closer to the event date.
