Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect real-money trader expectations, which often incorporate meteorological forecasts, historical June temperature data for Beijing, and atmospheric models faster than traditional analyst reports update. While weather analysts publish seasonal and medium-range forecasts through official channels, prediction markets aggregate dispersed information and incentivize accuracy through financial stakes. Comparing the market's implied temperature range to published forecasts from China's meteorological authority can reveal whether traders are pricing in more optimistic or pessimistic scenarios than official guidance.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, the highest temperature in Beijing on June 7 is priced through outcome shares that traders buy and sell, with each share's price reflecting the implied probability of that temperature bracket occurring. Traders stake capital on specific temperature ranges, and the market price adjusts continuously as new information—such as updated seasonal forecasts or climate data—emerges. Liquidity and trading volume determine how quickly prices respond to new signals, influencing the tightness of spreads between bid and ask prices.
The market resolves on Jun 7, 2026, after June 7 has concluded and the highest temperature recorded in Beijing for that day is finalized. Resolution depends on the official temperature reading from the designated weather station or meteorological authority responsible for Beijing's official climate records. Once the final measurement is confirmed and matched to the corresponding outcome bracket in the market, traders holding the winning shares receive their payout.
Key signals include updated seasonal weather forecasts, atmospheric pressure systems approaching northern China, ocean temperature anomalies affecting regional climate patterns, and historical June temperature trends for Beijing. Major weather events—such as unexpected cold fronts, heat waves, or monsoon activity—can shift trader expectations significantly. Real-time meteorological alerts, satellite imagery showing cloud cover and humidity levels, and official forecasts released by China's weather agencies in the days leading up to June 7 will likely drive the largest odds movements as the event date approaches.
