Frequently asked questions

On Polymarket, the Beijing temperature market dashboard tracks real-time odds and trading activity for the highest temperature forecast in Beijing on July 13. The interface displays current market prices, historical price movements, and 24-hour volume data, allowing traders to monitor how consensus shifts as new weather data and forecasts emerge. This dashboard gives you a live window into how the prediction community is pricing temperature outcomes, from moment to moment, as the event date approaches.

Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional weather analyst forecasts because they reflect real-money incentives and crowdsourced conviction. While meteorologists publish point estimates and confidence intervals based on atmospheric models, traders in this market are wagering capital on specific temperature thresholds, which can reveal information gaps or consensus blind spots. Comparing the implied probabilities here to published forecasts from major weather services can highlight where the crowd sees risk differently than institutional models do.

This market resolves around Jul 13, 2026, once the highest temperature recorded in Beijing on July 13 is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by comparing actual meteorological data against the specific temperature thresholds embedded in each contract. Resolution typically occurs within hours of the close of the trading day, allowing traders to settle positions as soon as the official reading is confirmed.

Major weather model updates, seasonal climate anomalies, and real-time atmospheric pressure systems can all shift odds significantly. Heat waves, monsoon patterns, or unexpected cold fronts in the days leading up to July 13 will trigger repricing as traders reassess tail risks. Additionally, revisions to long-range forecasts from meteorological agencies and any unusual urban heat island effects reported in Beijing can prompt sharp moves. Close monitoring of weather alerts and model consensus will help you anticipate market swings.
