Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect real-money consensus from traders betting on Ankara's June 4 temperature, while meteorological forecasts from agencies like Turkey's State Meteorological Service represent model-based predictions. Markets often incorporate analyst forecasts but also price in uncertainty, historical volatility, and trader sentiment. Comparing the implied probability from Polymarket against official weather agency confidence intervals can reveal whether markets are pricing in more or less risk than traditional forecasters, helping you gauge market conviction relative to expert opinion.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, the highest temperature in Ankara on June 4 is priced as a set of outcome contracts, each representing a specific temperature range or exact value. Traders buy and sell shares in each outcome, with prices reflecting the collective probability estimate. The price of each contract moves inversely with demand: higher demand for a temperature outcome raises its price and implied probability, while lower demand decreases it. Liquidity and order-book depth determine how easily traders can enter or exit positions at any given time.
The market resolves on Jun 4, 2026, after June 4 concludes and the official highest temperature for Ankara is recorded. Resolution is determined by the verified meteorological data for that day, ensuring a single, objective outcome. Once the temperature is confirmed, all winning outcome contracts are paid out at full value and losing contracts expire worthless. The resolution process is final and binding, settling all open positions in the market.
Major weather pattern shifts, updated seasonal forecasts, and real-time atmospheric data releases can significantly move odds for Ankara's June 4 high temperature. Heat waves, cold fronts, or unusual pressure systems affecting the Eastern Mediterranean region will influence trader expectations. Seasonal climate indices, solar activity, and historical temperature anomalies for early June also factor into pricing. As June 4 approaches, short-term weather models become more precise, typically reducing uncertainty and stabilizing odds. Breaking news about regional weather events or climate anomalies can trigger sharp repricing.
