The resolution source for this market will be information from Wunderground, specifically the highest temperature recorded for all times on this day for the Esenboğa Intl Airport Station, available here: https://www.wunderground.com/history/daily/tr/%C3%A7ubuk/LTAC. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the gear icon next to the search bar and switch the Temperature setting between °F and °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional meteorological forecasts because they incorporate real-time trader behavior, risk appetite, and information flow. While weather analysts rely on numerical models and historical data to project the highest temperature, market participants factor in uncertainty, liquidity conditions, and competing views. This market allows you to compare the crowd's probabilistic estimate—reflected in live odds—against published forecasts from meteorological agencies. The gap between the two can highlight where traders see model risk or where consensus is particularly strong.
On Polymarket, traders set prices through an automated market maker that converts buy and sell orders into real-time probability quotes. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each temperature outcome is represented as a separate contract, and the price of each reflects the implied likelihood of that specific high being recorded. As new information arrives—updated weather models, satellite data, or seasonal patterns—traders adjust their positions, moving prices up or down. The most active outcome typically commands the tightest spreads and deepest liquidity.
Major weather pattern shifts, updated seasonal forecasts, and real-time atmospheric data releases can significantly move odds in this market. Tropical systems, heat waves, or cold fronts affecting the Eastern Mediterranean region may trigger sharp repricing as traders reassess tail risks. Closer to June 28, daily weather model updates and satellite imagery become increasingly influential. Geopolitical or air quality events affecting the region could also shift trader expectations. Early-season temperature anomalies and long-range climate indices provide additional signals that active participants monitor continuously.
