Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect real-money trader expectations and often diverge from traditional meteorological forecasts. While weather analysts rely on atmospheric models and historical climate data, prediction markets incorporate trader beliefs about model accuracy, potential forecast revisions, and real-time conditions. Comparing Polymarket implied probabilities to official forecasts from Turkey's meteorological institute or international weather services can reveal whether markets are pricing in higher or lower temperatures than consensus models suggest, helping identify potential mispricings.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, the highest temperature in Ankara on June 10 is priced through outcome shares that traders buy and sell to express their temperature predictions. Each outcome represents a specific temperature range or threshold, and the price of each share reflects the collective probability assigned by the market. Traders profit by correctly predicting which temperature outcome will occur, with prices adjusting continuously as new information and trading activity arrive. Liquidity and spreads vary across outcomes, influencing ease of entry and exit.
The market resolves on Jun 10, 2026, after the highest temperature in Ankara on June 10 has been recorded and verified. The outcome is determined by the official maximum temperature measurement for that date, sourced from authoritative meteorological records. Resolution occurs once the data is finalized and confirmed, settling all open positions based on which outcome bracket or threshold the actual temperature falls into. Traders should monitor official weather station reports and announcements as the event date approaches to anticipate resolution timing.
Several factors could shift market odds before resolution. Updated seasonal weather forecasts, atmospheric pressure systems, and jet stream patterns published by meteorological agencies may alter trader expectations. Real-time weather alerts, heat waves, or unusual climate patterns in the weeks leading up to June 10 could trigger repricing. Additionally, historical temperature records for Ankara in early June and any climate anomalies reported in the region may influence market sentiment. Traders typically increase activity as the event date nears and forecasts become more precise.
