Frequently asked questions

On Polymarket, the Ankara temperature record market dashboard tracks real-time odds and trading activity for whether the highest temperature in Ankara will reach 38°C or higher on July 3. The interface displays current market price, historical price movements, and 24-hour trading volume, allowing traders to monitor how sentiment shifts as the event date approaches. This live data reflects the collective forecast of market participants betting on peak summer heat in Turkey's capital.

Prediction markets like this one aggregate real-money bets from traders worldwide, often capturing signals that traditional weather forecasts may lag. While meteorologists rely on atmospheric models and historical data, market participants incorporate those same forecasts plus their own local knowledge and risk appetite. The odds here reflect a probabilistic consensus; comparing them to published analyst predictions for Ankara's July temperatures can reveal where the crowd sees upside or downside risk relative to official guidance.

This market resolves around Jul 3, 2026, once July 3 has passed and the day's peak temperature in Ankara is recorded. The outcome is confirmed against credible public sources documenting the actual high temperature for that date. If the highest temperature reaches or exceeds 38°C, the yes outcome wins; otherwise, the no outcome prevails. Traders should monitor weather forecasts and real-time conditions in the days leading up to resolution.

Major weather model updates, seasonal heat waves, or shifts in atmospheric pressure patterns over the Mediterranean and Middle East could significantly shift odds. Real-time temperature readings and forecasts from meteorological agencies in the week before July 3 will likely trigger sharp price moves. Additionally, historical July temperature records for Ankara and any unusual climate anomalies reported by regional weather services may prompt traders to reassess their positions. Breaking news of extreme heat events elsewhere in the region could also influence sentiment.
