This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded at the Amsterdam Airport Schiphol Station in degrees Celsius on 31 May '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from Wunderground, specifically the highest temperature recorded for all times on this day for the Amsterdam Airport Schiphol Station, available here: https://www.wunderground.com/history/daily/nl/schiphol/EHAM. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the gear icon next to the search bar and switch the Temperature setting between °F and °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.
Prediction market odds reflect real-time consensus from traders betting on Amsterdam's May 31 high temperature, while meteorological forecasts from weather services like KNMI or Météo-France rely on atmospheric models and historical climate data. Markets often incorporate analyst predictions but can diverge based on trader sentiment and risk appetite. Comparing Polymarket odds to official weather forecasts released closer to the event date reveals whether the crowd is pricing in warmer, cooler, or seasonal-average conditions for that specific day.
On Polymarket, the highest temperature in Amsterdam on May 31 is priced through binary outcome contracts. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The top outcome currently offered is whether the high will be 17°C or below, with traders buying and selling shares to express their probability estimates. Prices range from 0 to 1 (or 0% to 100%), and the current market probability reflects the aggregate belief of all participants. Volume and liquidity on this contract determine how easily traders can enter or exit positions.
Major weather pattern shifts, seasonal climate anomalies, and updated meteorological forecasts can significantly move odds. High-pressure systems moving into Western Europe or Atlantic storm activity could push temperatures higher or lower than seasonal norms. Long-range weather models released in late May will be closely watched by traders. Additionally, historical temperature records for that date and broader climate trends in the Northern Hemisphere spring season may influence market pricing as May 31 approaches.
