Description

This event tracks whether Denver experiences consecutive days with average temperatures exceeding 90°F during the week of October 5, 2026. The outcome depends on the number of days meeting this threshold within the specified timeframe.

Kalshi

The market resolves to Yes if there are at least 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 consecutive days within October 5, 2026, through October 11, 2026, where the daily average temperature at KDEN in Denver is strictly greater than 90 degrees Fahrenheit. The daily average temperature is calculated as the arithmetic mean of hourly temperature values reported by The Weather Company for KDEN from 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM local time, rounded to the nearest whole degree. Only days within the specified week may count toward a streak, and data as published at the Expiration Time will be used without later revisions. An average of exactly 90 degrees Fahrenheit does not satisfy the condition, and a day with fewer than 18 reported hourly values breaks the streak and does not count for payout.

This market resolves around Oct 13, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the resolution will be based on the average daily high temperature recorded in Denver during the week of October 5, 2026. If Denver experiences consecutive days with an average high temperature exceeding 90°F, the market will settle in favor of the 'yes' outcome. Otherwise, it will settle in favor of the 'no' outcome, and contracts will be paid out accordingly based on the final price.

Several factors could influence the price of this market over the coming months. Long-range weather forecasts, particularly those issued by the National Weather Service and other meteorological organizations, will be closely watched. Any indications of a developing high-pressure system over the region, or predictions for above-average temperatures, could drive the price higher. Conversely, forecasts calling for cooler, wetter conditions could lower the price. Broader climate trends and news related to climate change could also indirectly affect trading activity in this market.
