This market will resolve to "Yes" if the U.S. government's official AI.gov website is renamed to SI.gov between market creation and the specified date, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". A qualifying change requires the website currently hosted at AI.gov to move to the SI.gov domain, for example by AI.gov permanently redirecting to SI.gov, or by the AI.gov site being officially relaunched or rebranded at SI.gov as its replacement. The launch of a separate website at SI.gov that does not replace AI.gov will not alone qualify. Placeholder or "coming soon" pages, error pages, and pages that are not publicly accessible will not qualify. Only an actual change to the websites within this market's timeframe will qualify. Announcements of a planned change, including official U.S. government announcements, as well as statements, interviews, social media posts, polls, jokes, or expressions of interest, will not qualify. Temporary redirects, temporary pages, tests, or changes to either website caused by hacks will not count. The primary resolution source for this market will be the AI.gov and SI.gov websites and official information from the U.S. government, however a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.

Currently, the odds on Polymarket reflect a different perspective than many analyst forecasts regarding the AI.gov renaming. While some experts believe a name change is unlikely in the near term, this market suggests a notable probability of it occurring. It's important to remember that prediction markets represent the collective wisdom of traders willing to put their capital behind their beliefs, offering a unique signal that can diverge from traditional expert opinions. This difference highlights the value of considering diverse sources of information when evaluating potential future events.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of these shares directly reflects the implied probability of the event occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movement is driven by supply and demand; increased buying pressure raises the price, indicating growing confidence in a 'Yes' outcome, while increased selling pressure lowers the price, suggesting greater belief in a 'No' outcome. This dynamic pricing allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust its assessment of the likelihood of the AI.gov renaming.
This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the resolution will depend on whether the official website address changes to SI.gov before the resolution date. Any official announcement from the U.S. government regarding the renaming of AI.gov will be considered as the determining factor. The outcome will be based on publicly available information and will not rely on any specific individual's interpretation or subjective assessment.
Several signals could significantly impact this market. Official statements from the Biden administration or key figures within AI.gov regarding potential rebranding efforts would be a major catalyst. Any news coverage detailing internal discussions about a name change, or a formal proposal to Congress, could also move the market. Unexpected policy shifts related to AI governance or funding could also influence trader sentiment. Finally, any technical issues or security concerns related to the AI.gov domain name might prompt a reassessment of the likelihood of a rebranding, potentially shifting the odds in this market.
