This group of markets asks forecasters to predict whether the price of Gold (XAUUSD) will reach specific high or low levels during the week of October 12, 2026. Each market focuses on a single price point, and resolution depends on whether that price is hit in a 1-minute candle during the specified trading week.
What will Gold (XAUUSD) hit Week of October 12 2026?
This market will resolve to "Yes" if, at any point after market creation and during a trading session of the week of October 12 2026, any 1-minute candle for Gold (XAUUSD) has a final "High" or "Low" price equal to or beyond (above for ↑ High Prices, below for ↓ Low Prices) the listed price. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". Only prices achieved during an applicable trading session of the specified timeframe's business days will be considered. The trading session for a given business day typically begins at 6:00 PM ET on the prior calendar date. Under the standard schedule, trading is open from 6:00:00 PM ET Sunday through 5:00:00 PM ET Friday, with a daily break from 5:00:00 PM ET to 6:00:00 PM ET, except where modified by holiday or special-session hours. Prices will be used exactly as published by Pyth, without rounding. If Gold (XAUUSD) does not trade at all during the listed time frame, this market will resolve to "No". In the event of a contract specification change, feed change, or similar structural modification affecting the market during the listed time frame, this market will resolve based on adjusted prices as displayed on Pyth. The resolution source for this market is Pyth — specifically, the Gold (XAUUSD) "High" and "Low" prices available at https://pythdata.app/explore/Metal.XAU%2FUSD, with the chart settings configured for 1-minute candles. Historical 1-minute candles may be accessed by appending a Unix timestamp (seconds) to the Pyth chart URL using the "t=" parameter. If the relevant Pyth data is unavailable due to a system outage, data failure, or other technical disruption that prevents verification of the required 1-minute candle data, the official daily high/low price published for the relevant CME COMEX futures contract for the underlying metal—COMEX Gold Futures (GC)—may be used to determine whether the listed price was reached during the applicable trading session.
Prediction market odds, like those found in this market, often provide a unique perspective compared to traditional analyst forecasts. Analysts frequently rely on fundamental and technical analysis, while prediction markets aggregate the wisdom of the crowd, incorporating a wider range of information and potential unforeseen events. While analyst forecasts can be valuable, this market can offer a more dynamic and real-time assessment of probabilities. Discrepancies between prediction market prices and analyst forecasts can highlight areas of disagreement or differing expectations about future economic conditions and geopolitical factors influencing gold prices.
Prices on Polymarket and Limitless may differ due to variations in trader demographics, market-making activity, and the specific mechanisms each platform employs for price discovery. Polymarket and Limitless can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. For example, Polymarket may attract a different class of trader than Limitless, leading to differing risk appetites and opinions on the future price of gold. Additionally, the liquidity and volume on each platform can influence price formation, as can any platform-specific fees or limitations. These factors contribute to the observed price discrepancies in this market.
This market resolves around Oct 16, 2026, with the outcome determined by whether the Gold (XAUUSD) price reaches the levels defined within the market's possible outcomes during the specified week. The final price will be verified against credible public reporting from financial data providers. This ensures an objective and transparent resolution process for this market, providing clarity on the predictive accuracy of traders on both Polymarket and Limitless.
Several signals and events could significantly move this market before Oct 16, 2026. Major macroeconomic data releases, such as inflation reports, interest rate decisions by central banks, and GDP growth figures, are likely to impact gold prices. Geopolitical events, including conflicts, political instability, and trade disputes, often drive demand for gold as a safe-haven asset. Unexpected changes in global economic conditions, shifts in investor sentiment, and fluctuations in the US dollar’s strength could also influence trading activity in this market. Monitoring these factors will be crucial for understanding price movements.
