This market will resolve to "Up" if the SPY/USDT price at the end of the time range specified in the title is greater than the price at the beginning of that range. It will resolve to "Down" if the SPY/USDT price at the end of the time range is lower than the price at the beginning of that range. If the two prices are exactly equal, the market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is Chainlink, specifically the SPY/USDT data stream available at https://data.chain.link/streams/spy-usdt-markpriceindex-datalink The resolution source uses the index price (field i) from Binance's USDS-Margined Futures Mark Price Stream for All Markets (!markPrice@arr), denominated in the quote currency. This market is based solely on the price reported by the Chainlink SPY/USDT data stream, not on other sources or futures markets. If Chainlink data is unavailable or otherwise unusable for resolution, the market will resolve based on a consensus of reliable sources. 2026-10-29T13:45:00Z

Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a different perspective than traditional analyst forecasts. While analysts may rely on fundamental or technical analysis, this market aggregates the wisdom of the crowd, incorporating a wider range of information and potential catalysts. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially when subjective factors or unforeseen events are likely to influence the outcome. Currently, the market suggests a different probability than many mainstream analysts are predicting for the SPY's movement, potentially indicating a contrarian view.
On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about the SPY’s direction. The price of these contracts fluctuates based on supply and demand, effectively creating a real-time probability assessment. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price reflects the collective judgment of participants, and changes rapidly as new information becomes available or sentiment shifts. The more traders believe the SPY will go up, the higher the price of the 'Up' contract, and vice versa.
This market resolves around Oct 29, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the resolution will be based on whether the SPY ETF closed higher or lower during the 9:45 AM to 10:00 AM Eastern Time window on October 29th. The final price will be determined by the official closing price reported by a reputable financial data provider, ensuring a transparent and objective result. Traders will then be paid out based on their positions in the market.
Several signals or events could significantly move this market before resolution. Unexpected economic data releases, such as inflation figures or unemployment numbers, could trigger a shift in sentiment. Major geopolitical events or news related to interest rate policy from the Federal Reserve are also likely catalysts. Company-specific news impacting large SPY components could also play a role. Even seemingly minor news events can have an outsized impact in the short term, especially given the limited timeframe of this market.
