This market tracks the probability of Shein’s initial public offering (IPO) closing with a market capitalization of at least 175B HKD. Currently, the consensus view across Polymarket and Predict is that this outcome will occur with a 66.0% probability. Resolution will be based on official company filings and the primary exchange’s official listing page. Given the markets will resolve to ‘No’ if no IPO occurs by December 31, 2027, keep a close watch on Shein’s progress toward filing for an IPO with the Hong Kong Exchange as a key signal.
This market will resolve to “Yes” if Shein's market capitalization at the closing price on its first day of trading is greater than or equal to the listed value. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. If no such IPO occurs by December 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "No”. Market capitalization expresses the monetary value of a company’s outstanding shares, stated in its pricing currency. It is calculated as the total number of outstanding shares, multiplied by the official closing share price of the publicly traded class on the first trading day. If necessary, to accurately capture the company’s total market capitalization, rather than a stock-class-specific market capitalization, the calculation will include all outstanding share classes and apply any stated conversion ratios to the publicly traded class. Where no conversion right exists, such shares will be counted at their stated outstanding amount without discount, unless official filings explicitly specify differently. This market will resolve based on market capitalization in Hong Kong Dollars (HKD). If the currency of the primary exchange is not HKD, this market will resolve based on a converted value to HKD, using the conversion rate at the time of market close of the primary exchange on the company's first day of trading. The number of outstanding shares will be determined from official company filings or disclosures (e.g., SEC filings). The closing share price on the first trading day will be determined from the primary exchange’s official listing page. The primary resolution source for this market will be official company filings and the primary exchange’s official listing page. The market capitalization will be determined through appropriate calculation using the total outstanding shares and the closing price from the first day of trading. In the event of an interruption in the normal trading session on the specified company’s first day of trading (e.g., a circuit breaker or half-day), the market will resolve according to the official closing price of the abbreviated session. If no such official closing price is published, the market will resolve according to the next trading day on which an official closing price is published, treating that day as the first day of trading for the purposes of this market.

On Polymarket, this market reflects trader sentiment through dynamic pricing, often showing a different outlook than traditional analyst forecasts. Analysts may incorporate fundamentals, news flow, and macro trends into their models, while prediction markets aggregate real-time betting behavior. The gap between the two can highlight market sentiment shifts or reveal where professional expectations diverge from crowd-sourced predictions. For the Shein IPO market, this spread may reflect risk appetite or recent sentiment swings not yet baked into analyst reports.
Polymarket and Predict can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. User demographics and liquidity levels drive pricing differences between Polymarket and Predict on this market. Each platform attracts distinct trader bases, leading to varied risk assessments and order flow patterns. Market design choices, such as fee structures or available trading instruments, further influence how prices form. As a result, odds can diverge meaningfully, especially when volume remains thin across one or both venues.
