This market will resolve according to how much "Resident Evil" Opening Weekend Box Office will gross domestically on its opening weekend. The "Daily Box Office Performance" figures found on the "Box Office" tab on this movie's The Numbers (https://www.the-numbers.com/) page will be used to resolve this market once the values for the 3-day opening weekend (September 18 - 20) are final (i.e., not studio estimates). If the reported value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket. Please note, this market will resolve according to the The Numbers figures provided under Weekend Box Office Performance for the 3-day weekend (which typically includes Thursday's previews), regardless of whether domestic refers to only the USA, or to USA and Canada, etc. If there is ambiguity as to whether the resolution source's figures are final, this market will remain open until both https://www.boxofficemojo.com/ and https://www.the-numbers.com/ have confirmed their finalized figures. If there is no final data available by September 25, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, another credible resolution source will be chosen.

On Predict, this market is priced using a mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing different opening weekend revenue ranges for “Resident Evil”. The price of each contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as determined by supply and demand. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more people buy contracts for a specific range, the price increases, indicating a higher perceived likelihood of that outcome. Conversely, if more people sell, the price decreases. This dynamic pricing allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust predictions accordingly.
This market resolves around Sep 26, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the official opening weekend box office numbers for “Resident Evil” are verifiable from credible public reporting. The final result will be based on reported domestic box office revenue for the film’s opening weekend, as reported by a major box office tracking service. The specific revenue range that corresponds to the winning outcome will be determined by these official figures. Traders should monitor official sources for the final box office results to understand the outcome of this market.
Several factors could significantly influence this market before it resolves. Positive or negative reviews from critics, the release of final trailer footage, and any unexpected news surrounding the film’s production or marketing could all shift trader sentiment. Strong pre-sale ticket numbers, if released, would likely increase the probability of a higher opening weekend. Conversely, any controversies or negative publicity could drive prices down. Keep an eye on social media trends and industry news for potential catalysts that could move the Resident Evil box office market.
