On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of the event occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price fluctuates based on supply and demand, driven by news, geopolitical developments, and shifts in trader sentiment. This dynamic pricing allows for a real-time assessment of the likelihood of a Putin-Iran meeting.
This market resolves around Jan 1, 2027, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will depend on whether verifiable evidence emerges of an official meeting between Vladimir Putin and Iranian officials. This includes in-person meetings, officially reported video conferences, or other forms of documented interaction recognized by international news agencies. The market will settle based on the occurrence or non-occurrence of such a meeting by the specified date.
Several factors could significantly influence this market. Major geopolitical developments in the region, such as shifts in the Ukraine conflict or changes in international sanctions against Iran, could impact the likelihood of a meeting. Official statements from either the Russian or Iranian governments regarding diplomatic efforts would also be a key catalyst. Unexpected announcements about high-level negotiations or a confirmed schedule for a visit could cause a substantial shift in probabilities within this market. Any credible reports of a planned meeting would likely drive up the price of shares.
