On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the probability of MicroStrategy announcing the purchase, with higher prices indicating a greater perceived chance of success. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is determined by the collective actions of all participants, creating a dynamic and real-time assessment of the event's likelihood. This differs from traditional betting markets, as it allows for continuous trading and price discovery.
This market resolves around Oct 27, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the resolution will depend on whether MicroStrategy publicly announces a Bitcoin purchase of more than 1000 BTC between October 20th and October 26th. Any official press release, SEC filing, or similar announcement from MicroStrategy will be considered as evidence. The outcome will be determined based on publicly available information, ensuring transparency and objectivity in the resolution process.
Several signals could significantly impact this market. Any official statements from MicroStrategy’s CEO, Michael Saylor, regarding their Bitcoin strategy would be a major catalyst. Positive news about MicroStrategy’s financial performance could increase the likelihood of a purchase, while negative news might decrease it. Broader market movements in Bitcoin’s price could also play a role, potentially influencing MicroStrategy's decision. Finally, any regulatory developments concerning Bitcoin or corporate Bitcoin holdings could shift the odds in this market.
