This market will resolve to "Up" if the MSFT/USDT price at the end of the time range specified in the title is greater than the price at the beginning of that range. It will resolve to "Down" if the MSFT/USDT price at the end of the time range is lower than the price at the beginning of that range. If the two prices are exactly equal, the market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is Chainlink, specifically the MSFT/USDT data stream available at https://data.chain.link/streams/msft-usdt-markpriceindex-datalink?timeframe=1d&chart=candlestick To verify the final price, use the close price of the 5m candlestick just before the market's end time. For example, for a market running from 1:00 to 1:15 PM ET, use the close price of the 1:10 PM candlestick as the final price. The resolution source uses the index price (field i) from Binance's USDS-Margined Futures Mark Price Stream for All Markets (!markPrice@arr), denominated in the quote currency. This market is based solely on the price reported by the Chainlink MSFT/USDT data stream, not on other sources or futures markets. If Chainlink data is unavailable or otherwise unusable for resolution, the market will resolve based on a consensus of reliable sources. 2026-10-21T16:45:00Z

Often, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than traditional analyst forecasts. While analysts may provide price targets based on fundamental or technical analysis, this market reflects the collective wisdom of traders betting real money. If a significant number of analysts predict a positive outlook for Microsoft, you might see higher probabilities assigned to the ‘up’ outcome here. However, this market can sometimes anticipate events *before* they are widely reflected in analyst reports, potentially offering a leading indicator of market sentiment.
On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous auction where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about whether Microsoft’s stock will close higher or lower during the specified period. The price of these contracts fluctuates based on supply and demand, effectively creating a real-time probability assessment. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price reflects the aggregated sentiment of all participants, and the higher the price, the greater the implied probability of the stock closing up.
This market resolves around Oct 21, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the closing price of Microsoft stock between 12:45 PM and 1:00 PM ET on October 21st will determine whether the ‘up’ or ‘down’ outcome is declared. The final price will be sourced from a widely recognized financial data provider, ensuring an objective and transparent resolution process.
Several factors could significantly influence this market. Major news announcements concerning Microsoft, such as earnings reports, product launches, or significant partnership deals, would likely cause price swings. Broader economic indicators, like inflation data or interest rate decisions, could also impact investor sentiment towards tech stocks generally. Unexpected geopolitical events or shifts in market trends could also play a role, prompting traders to reassess their positions and adjust the odds accordingly.
