Description

This event tracks the lowest temperature recorded in Chicago on a specific date in the future, using data from a designated weather service. The outcome depends on where the temperature falls within predefined ranges, reflecting different climate scenarios for that day.

Kalshi

The event resolves based on the minimum temperature recorded at Chicago’s CLIMDW station on August 29, 2026, as reported by The Weather Company. Six distinct temperature ranges are defined, each corresponding to a separate market outcome. If the minimum temperature is less than 59°F, the '58° or below' market resolves to Yes. If it falls between 59°F and 60°F, the '59° to 60°' market resolves to Yes, and this pattern continues for the '61° to 62°' and '63° to 64°' ranges. For temperatures between 65°F and 66°F, the '65° to 66°' market resolves to Yes. If the temperature exceeds 66°F, the '67° or above' market resolves to Yes. All markets are mutually exclusive, with only one resolving to Yes based on where the actual temperature falls. While other weather sources may offer similar data, The Weather Company’s report is the sole authority for resolution. Users should exercise caution with preliminary readings, as rounding and conversion differences can affect early data interpretations.
