This market will resolve to "Yes" if the official closing price for Kalshi's market capitalization on its first trading day is above the value specified in the title. Otherwise, it will resolve to "No". If no IPO occurs by December 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "No". Market capitalization expresses the monetary value of a company’s outstanding shares, stated in its pricing currency. It is calculated as the number of shares outstanding multiplied by the closing share price on the first trading day. Resolution will be based on the primary exchange's official listing page. In the event that the relevant figure is not displayed, another reliable source will be used. In the event of an interruption in the course of the normal trading session on Kalshi's first day of trading (e.g., a circuit breaker or half-day), the market will resolve according to the official closing price of the abbreviated session. If no such official closing price is published, the market will resolve according to the next trading day on which an official closing price is published, treating that as the first day of trading for purposes of this market.

Currently, it's important to note that this market represents the collective prediction of traders on Predict. Comparing these odds to traditional analyst forecasts reveals how market-based predictions differ from expert opinions. If analysts generally predict a lower valuation for Kalshi, the odds in this market might reflect a higher probability of a successful IPO, or vice versa. This discrepancy can be insightful, as prediction markets often incorporate a wider range of information and perspectives than traditional forecasts, potentially offering a more accurate view of future outcomes.
On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about whether the Kalshi IPO closing market cap will be above the specified level. The price of these contracts fluctuates based on supply and demand, directly reflecting the collective probability assigned by traders. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This means the odds you see are a direct result of real-money trading, making it a dynamic and responsive indicator of market sentiment. The current price reflects the aggregated view of all participants trading in this market.
This market resolves around Jan 1, 2028, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the closing market capitalization of Kalshi following its IPO will be assessed against the market's threshold. The final price will be determined by official data released by relevant financial authorities. This ensures a transparent and objective determination of the outcome, based on publicly available information and not on any subjective interpretation or internal data sources.
Several factors could significantly influence this market. Major news regarding Kalshi’s IPO, such as changes to the offering price or the number of shares available, would likely cause substantial movement. Broader market conditions, particularly the performance of the technology sector and overall investor sentiment, will also play a role. Positive or negative press coverage, analyst upgrades or downgrades, and any unforeseen regulatory developments could all impact trader confidence and, consequently, the odds in this market. Any significant announcements from Kalshi’s management team could also be a catalyst.
