This market tracks whether Bitcoin’s trimmed mean price will fall below $80000.00 at any point during October 2026. Currently, the leading outcome – that BTC trimmed mean *will* be below $80000.00 by 11:59 PM ET on October 31, 2026 – is trading at 53.0% on Kalshi. The second most likely outcome, that BTC trimmed mean will be below $77500.00 by 11:59 PM ET on October 31, 2026, is at 37.0%. Resolution will be determined by whether the price of BTC ever falls below the specified level before 11:59 PM ET on October 31, 2026, according to the resolution source. Keep a close eye on price action leading up to October 31, 2026, as that date marks the end of the event window for determining whether Bitcoin meets the specified price threshold.
These markets resolve to Yes if, at any minute between issuance and 11:59 PM ET on October 31, 2026, the trimmed mean price of Bitcoin falls below the specified threshold. The trimmed mean is calculated by removing the top and bottom 20% of minute-by-minute price data and averaging the remaining values, which mitigates the effect of extreme spikes or drops. If CF Benchmarks data is unavailable or incomplete at expiration, all affected markets resolve to No. The measurement period begins at issuance and ends at the specified time, with the exchange specifying the exact Bitcoin version or ticker tracked.
Currently, prediction market odds reflect a range of expectations for the October BTC low, potentially differing from those found in traditional spot price forecasts or analyst predictions. This market aggregates the informed opinions of many traders, creating a forward-looking estimate based on collective intelligence. While some analysts may predict a specific price based on technical indicators or fundamental analysis, this market represents a probabilistic view of all possible outcomes. Discrepancies can arise due to differing methodologies and the incorporation of unique information by market participants.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction, meaning buyers and sellers submit bids and asks, and the market price fluctuates based on supply and demand. Contracts are priced between 0 and 100, representing the probability of the corresponding price level being the October BTC low. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a contract reflects the market’s assessment of the likelihood of that specific outcome. Higher volume at certain price points indicates stronger conviction among traders regarding those potential low values for Bitcoin.
This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the lowest price Bitcoin reaches during the month of October is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on data from major cryptocurrency exchanges, ensuring an accurate and transparent determination of the lowest price. Traders holding contracts predicting the actual October BTC low will receive a payout of 100, while those holding contracts predicting a higher low will receive a payout proportional to the difference between their contract price and the actual lowest price.
Several signals or events could significantly move this market. Major macroeconomic announcements, such as interest rate decisions or inflation reports, often impact Bitcoin's price. Regulatory developments concerning cryptocurrency, particularly in key jurisdictions, could also cause substantial shifts in market sentiment. Unexpected news related to major cryptocurrency exchanges or significant hacks could also trigger price movements. Finally, broader market trends, such as changes in risk appetite among investors, can influence the price of Bitcoin and, consequently, the trading activity in this market.
