Frequently asked questions

The Warsaw temperature market dashboard on Polymarket tracks real-time odds and historical price movement for predictions on the highest temperature in Warsaw on June 25. Traders can monitor current implied probabilities across outcome ranges, view 24-hour trading volume of $27,731, and review total liquidity of $41,830 across all positions. The interface displays order books, recent trades, and price history, enabling participants to assess market sentiment and identify shifting expectations as new weather data and forecasts emerge leading up to the event date.

Prediction market odds reflect aggregated trader expectations and often diverge from traditional meteorologist forecasts. While weather analysts publish point estimates and confidence intervals based on numerical models, this market prices in real-time information, trader conviction, and tail-risk hedging behavior. Markets can move faster than official updates when new data arrives, and odds may skew toward extreme outcomes if participants perceive model uncertainty. Comparing current implied probabilities to the latest official forecasts reveals whether the crowd is pricing in more or less risk than institutional meteorologists.

On Polymarket, traders set prices through an automated market maker mechanism where each outcome range has its own contract. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Buying a contract increases its price; selling decreases it. The odds for each temperature bracket reflect the ratio of capital allocated to that outcome relative to all others. Liquidity providers earn fees on trades, while speculators profit by correctly predicting which range will verify as the highest temperature. Real-time price discovery ensures the market continuously incorporates new weather models, historical patterns, and breaking forecasts.

This market resolves around Jun 25, 2026, once the highest temperature recorded in Warsaw on June 25 is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by official meteorological data and confirmed through established weather reporting channels. Traders holding contracts matching the verified temperature range receive their payout, while other positions expire worthless. Resolution typically occurs within hours of the market end time, allowing rapid settlement and capital redeployment to subsequent events.

Major weather model updates, seasonal pattern shifts, and atmospheric anomalies can significantly reprrice this market. Publication of extended forecasts, changes in jet stream positioning, or unexpected high-pressure systems will trigger trader repositioning. Historical temperature records for late June in Warsaw serve as anchors; if recent years show warming trends, odds may shift toward higher ranges. Breaking news of extreme weather elsewhere in Europe, volcanic activity, or solar anomalies could also influence expectations. As June 25 approaches, intraday forecasts become more precise, typically narrowing the range and concentrating liquidity around the most probable outcome.
