This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by NOAA at the Vnukovo International Airport in degrees Celsius on 3 Jul '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=UUWW To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to Metric Units" button until the relevant table displays °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.

Prediction market odds and traditional weather analyst forecasts often diverge because they reflect different methodologies. Meteorologists rely on atmospheric models and historical data, while prediction markets aggregate the real-money beliefs of many traders with financial incentives to forecast accurately. This market allows you to compare the crowd's temperature expectations against published forecasts from weather services. When significant gaps emerge, it may signal either market inefficiency or analyst uncertainty—both valuable signals for understanding the range of plausible outcomes.
On Polymarket, traders set prices through an automated market maker that converts contract odds into decimal prices between 0 and 1. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each contract represents a specific temperature outcome, and the price reflects the collective probability assigned by active traders. As new information emerges—such as updated weather models or seasonal patterns—traders adjust their positions, moving prices up or down. Higher prices indicate stronger market conviction that a particular temperature threshold will be reached.
This market resolves around Jul 3, 2026, once the highest temperature recorded in Moscow on July 3 becomes verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by comparing actual recorded temperatures against the contract thresholds specified in the market. Resolution typically occurs within hours or days after the event, once official meteorological data is published and confirmed. Traders holding contracts aligned with the verified outcome receive their winnings.
Several factors can shift odds in this market before resolution. Updated long-range weather forecasts, seasonal climate patterns, and atmospheric pressure systems over Eastern Europe all influence trader expectations. Major weather events or anomalies reported in advance can trigger rapid repricing. As July 3 approaches, near-term meteorological models become more reliable, often causing sharper price movements. Real-time weather developments, heat waves affecting the region, or unexpected cold fronts can also prompt traders to adjust positions significantly.
