Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds reflect aggregated trader expectations and differ from traditional weather forecasts issued by meteorological agencies. While meteorologists use physics-based models and historical data, this market prices outcomes based on collective trader conviction and real-money incentives. Comparing the current odds to official forecasts from Mexico's National Weather Service can reveal where traders see upside or downside risk. Markets often incorporate late-breaking data and local knowledge faster than traditional models, making them a complementary signal rather than a replacement for expert analysis.

This market resolves around Jun 25, 2026, once the highest temperature recorded in Mexico City for June 25 becomes verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the actual peak temperature reading on that date, confirmed through official meteorological records. Traders holding shares in the correct temperature band receive their payout once the event occurs and the result is finalized on the platform.

Several factors could shift odds before resolution. Updated seasonal forecasts or climate anomalies—such as heat waves or unusual atmospheric patterns—often trigger sharp repricing. Major weather events in neighboring regions can signal broader conditions affecting Mexico City. Real-time meteorological data releases, changes in atmospheric pressure systems, and even historical temperature comparisons for similar dates influence trader positioning. As June 25 approaches, intraday forecasts become more precise, typically narrowing the range of plausible outcomes and concentrating trading volume around the most likely temperature bands.
