On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, this event is priced through outcome contracts representing different temperature ranges or specific degree thresholds for June 12's high in Kuala Lumpur. Traders buy and sell shares corresponding to each outcome, with prices reflecting the collective probability assigned by the market. The platform uses an automated market maker or order-book model to determine real-time odds. As new information emerges—weather forecasts, seasonal data, or climate patterns—prices adjust to reflect updated market sentiment about the likely temperature outcome.
The market resolves on Jun 12, 2026, after June 12 concludes and the highest temperature for that day is recorded. Resolution is determined by official temperature data from a designated meteorological source, typically Malaysia's national weather authority or an internationally recognized climate database. Once the peak temperature is confirmed, it is matched against the outcome criteria defined in the market contract, and all positions settle accordingly based on which temperature bracket or threshold was reached.
Several factors could shift market odds before June 12. Updated seasonal weather forecasts and monsoon predictions will influence expectations for tropical heat. El Niño or La Niña patterns may signal warmer or cooler conditions. Real-time atmospheric data, including humidity and pressure systems approaching Southeast Asia, can trigger repricing.
