This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by NOAA at the Istanbul Airport in degrees Celsius on 8 Jul '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=LTFM To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to Metric Units" button until the relevant table displays °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.

Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional meteorological forecasts because they incorporate real-time information, trader expertise, and financial incentives absent from static analyst models. While meteorologists rely on physics-based atmospheric modeling, this market reflects what informed traders believe will actually occur, including tail risks and late-breaking data. Comparing the implied probability here to published forecasts from weather agencies can reveal whether the market is pricing in more or less uncertainty than experts expect. Such divergences sometimes signal overlooked factors or consensus blind spots in conventional forecasting.
On Polymarket, traders set prices through an automated market maker that adjusts odds based on buy and sell pressure across temperature outcome buckets. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each share represents a claim on a specific temperature range, and the price of each reflects the probability the market assigns to that outcome occurring. As traders deposit capital and place orders, the pricing algorithm rebalances to maintain liquidity and prevent arbitrage. This continuous price discovery process means odds update in real time, rewarding early information and punishing stale positions.
This market resolves around Jul 8, 2026, once the highest temperature recorded in Istanbul on July 8 is verified and confirmed. The outcome is determined by comparing actual meteorological data against the predefined temperature ranges offered in the market. Resolution occurs after the trading window closes and official temperature readings are finalized, typically within hours or a day of the event. Traders holding shares in the correct outcome range receive their payout based on the final verified data.
Major weather pattern shifts, updated seasonal forecasts, and real-time atmospheric data releases will drive significant price swings in this market. Tropical systems, heat waves, or unexpected cold fronts affecting the Eastern Mediterranean can reshape trader expectations weeks or days in advance. As July 8 approaches, hourly weather model updates and satellite imagery become increasingly influential, often triggering sharp repricing. Historical temperature anomalies for Istanbul in early July, climate indices like the North Atlantic Oscillation, and even global weather headlines can shift sentiment and move odds substantially.
