Description

This market will resolve to "Up" if the official DAX Index closing price for DAX (DAX) on Monday, November 2, 2026 is higher than the official DAX Index closing price for DAX on the most recent prior trading day. This market will resolve to "Down" if the official DAX Index closing price for DAX (DAX) on Monday, November 2, 2026 is lower than the official DAX Index closing price for DAX on the most recent prior trading day. E.g., ordinarily, a market on Monday would refer to the previous Friday for its most recent closing price, unless that Friday were a market holiday, in which case it would refer to Thursday, or the next most recent trading day. If the two specified closing prices are exactly equal, this market will resolve 50-50. Note that all figures will be rounded to the nearest cent using standard rounding. If DAX does not trade at all during the regular session, the market will resolve 50-50. If either of the relevant days are shortened (for example, due to a market holiday schedule), the official closing price published by DAX Index for that shortened session will still be used for resolution. If either of the relevant days have no official closing price (for example, due to a trading halt into the market close, system issue, delisting, or other disruption), the market will use the last valid on-exchange trade price of the regular session as the effective closing price. The resolution source for this market is the Wall Street Journal, specifically the Close values published by the WSJ under "Historical Prices". Currently, prediction market odds offer a unique perspective compared to traditional analyst forecasts for the DAX. While analysts often provide point estimates or ranges, this market aggregates the wisdom of the crowd, reflecting a probability distribution of potential outcomes. Discrepancies can arise due to differing methodologies, biases, or access to information. It's important to remember that analyst forecasts are often based on models and assumptions, while this market represents the collective belief of individuals willing to put capital at risk. Comparing these viewpoints can provide a more comprehensive understanding of potential market movements.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief about whether the DAX will be up or down on November 2. The price of these shares fluctuates based on supply and demand, directly reflecting the collective probability assigned to each outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This means that as more traders believe the DAX will rise, the price of 'up' shares increases, and vice versa. The current volume traded provides insight into the level of interest and conviction surrounding each potential direction.

Resolution will be based on whether the DAX closes higher or lower than its opening value on November 2. The final price of the DAX on that day will be the determining factor, and the market will settle accordingly. Traders should monitor official financial news sources for the official closing price to understand the final outcome of this market.
