This market will resolve to "Yes" if any Starship upper stage is successfully caught by the chopsticks on the Orbital Launch Tower between market creation and the specified date, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, it will resolve to "No." A successful catch is defined as the chopsticks capturing and supporting the Starship upper stage without it falling to the ground or causing catastrophic damage during the landing process. If SpaceX attempts an ocean splashdown of the Starship upper stage instead of attempting to catch it using the Orbital Launch Tower's chopsticks, that attempt will not qualify. If no Starship launch occurs, or a successful catch does not take place, by the specified date, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "No." The resolution source for this market will be official video provided by SpaceX (https://www.youtube.com/c/SpaceX), as well as secondary video feeds and/or written reports if necessary.

On Polymarket, current odds reflect trader expectations about the chances of chopsticks catching a Starship upper stage. These probabilities can diverge from analyst forecasts, which may be influenced by technical evaluations, engineering feasibility studies, or risk assessments. Where analysts see low probability based on physical constraints, traders might price in unexpected developments or novel approaches. Monitoring both sources helps identify potential shifts in perception leading up to Nov 1, 2026.
This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Any documented instance of chopsticks successfully catching a Starship upper stage will settle the market; absence of such evidence leads to the alternative result.
Several signals could shift probabilities before Nov 1, 2026. Breakthroughs in robotic grasping technology, successful high-altitude capture tests, or official announcements from aerospace agencies about recovery plans might boost chances. Conversely, failures in related experiments, budget cuts, or safety reviews could push odds downward. Media coverage highlighting novel concepts or expert endorsements may also influence trader sentiment, especially as the deadline approaches.
