Numerous signals and events could significantly impact this market. Geopolitical instability in major oil-producing regions, such as the Middle East, is a key factor. Unexpected changes in OPEC+ production policies, shifts in global economic growth forecasts, and major disruptions to oil supply chains – like those caused by extreme weather events – could all move the market. Furthermore, significant technological advancements in energy production, such as breakthroughs in renewable energy or enhanced oil recovery techniques, could also influence trader sentiment and price expectations.
