Traders should closely watch the price of Bitcoin leading up to October 12, 2024, as the Binance closing price at noon ET on that date will determine the market’s outcome.
This market will resolve to "Yes" if the Binance 1 minute candle for BTC/USDT closing at 12:00 in the ET timezone (noon) on the date specified in the title has a final "Close" price higher than the price specified in the title. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". The resolution source for this market is Binance, specifically the BTC/USDT "Close" prices currently available at https://www.binance.com/en/trade/BTC_USDT with "1m" and "Candles" selected on the top bar. Please note that this market is about the price according to Binance BTC/USDT, not according to other exchanges or trading pairs. Currently, prediction market odds offer a unique perspective compared to traditional spot price expectations. While spot prices reflect immediate market value, this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders about the future price of Bitcoin. If a significant difference emerges between the implied probability from this market and forecasts from financial analysts, it could signal a potential market mispricing or a strong conviction among prediction market participants. This difference in outlook is a key aspect of what makes prediction markets valuable.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief about whether the Bitcoin price will be above a certain level on October 12. The price of these shares directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market's price fluctuates based on supply and demand, driven by new information and changing sentiment. Higher demand for shares indicating a 'yes' outcome will drive up the price, and vice-versa.
This market resolves around Oct 12, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the price of Bitcoin will be assessed at a defined time on October 12, and the market will settle based on whether that price is above the specified threshold. The exact price used for resolution will be sourced from a reputable and widely-followed cryptocurrency exchange, ensuring a transparent and objective determination of the result.
Several signals or events could significantly move this market.
