This market will resolve to "Yes" if public access to OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra model is generally removed in the United States for any reason between market creation and the specified date, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". A general removal of public access means the model is no longer available for use by the general public in the United States through any of OpenAI's ordinary public channels, including its consumer applications and self-serve API. Removal from a single channel while another public channel retains access, removals applying only to limited groups (e.g., foreign nationals), payment or pricing changes, and restrictions on particular capabilities or features of an otherwise accessible model will not qualify. A general removal qualifies even if access is retained by limited groups or organizations (e.g., whitelisted firms, approved-access programs, or individuals with security clearance). Removal of individual modes, snapshots, or reduced-capability variants will not qualify while the model itself remains publicly accessible; however, if only reduced-capability variants (e.g., mini or nano variants) remain accessible, the model will be considered removed. A removal qualifies only if it is announced by OpenAI, or confirmed by a consensus of credible reporting, that public access has been removed rather than temporarily interrupted; outages, capacity limitations, or lack of access due to technical issues will not qualify. The resolution sources for this market will be official information from OpenAI and a consensus of credible reporting.

Currently, the prevailing sentiment in this market suggests a high probability that Astra will be removed from public access by October 31st. This contrasts with some initial analyst forecasts which predicted a more gradual approach to restricting access. However, it’s important to remember that prediction market odds reflect the collective wisdom of traders, and can shift rapidly based on new information. The market’s current pricing represents a real-time assessment of the likelihood of this event occurring, differing from static analyst predictions.
This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will depend on whether or not access to Astra has been removed from public availability before that date. The specific details of what constitutes “removal of public access” are defined by the market's rules on Polymarket. Traders should review those rules for a complete understanding of the resolution conditions, but the outcome will be based on publicly available information.
Several signals or events could significantly move this market. Any official announcements from the developers of Astra regarding changes to access policies would be a major catalyst. Unexpected security vulnerabilities or exploits related to Astra could also influence trading activity, potentially increasing the likelihood of restricted access. Furthermore, regulatory actions or statements from government agencies concerning Astra’s accessibility could also shift the odds. Monitoring news related to Astra, its development team, and relevant regulatory bodies is key to understanding potential market movements.
